Medical Condition May Be Motive For Murder/Suicide

"WINDSOR, PA — A Windsor Township man fatally shot his wife in their home, then turned the gun on himself Tuesday afternoon, York County Chief Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley said.

"The couple, in their mid-50s, lived in the 900 block of Snyder Corner Road, York Area Regional Police said.

"The husband shot his wife earlier on Tuesday, then called 911 about 2:15 p.m. and told dispatchers he had killed her and was going to kill himself, according to Stabley, who called the case a murder-suicide.

"When officers arrived at the home, they found a woman inside, dead of a gunshot wound, Lt. Paul Redifer said. Officers then searched the area and found a man dead outside in a field, just behind the home, the lieutenant said.

"Stabley said he will release the names of the deceased after their family members are notified.

"The wife was sitting in a chair in her living room when she was shot once in the head, according to Stabley.

"The husband also suffered a single gunshot wound to the head, Stabley said.

"The wife was suffering from a medical condition that might have precipitated her murder, according to Stabley."
